Red Bull New York Unveils 2027-28 Red Member Details
This week, with the FIFA World Cup wrapping up and the MLS restart looming, Red Bull New York announced its new Red Membership Bundle.
The latest season ticket program aims to honor longtime MetroStars and Red Bull season ticket holders.

Two Seasons, Home Games
The 2027 Red Membership includes both the 2027 Sprint Season and the 27/28 Season, with members keeping their seats across both.
It was already announced that the 2027 Sprint Season will consist of 14 games, with 7 home games. There hasn’t been a word on the season format for the split season, but if the total games stay at 34, that means 17 games at Sports Illustrated Stadium. That would mean a grand total of 24 regular-season MLS matches for adopters.
The package also comes with playoff implications. Fans who sign up will be guaranteed their seats for up to two playoff matches in both seasons.
There’s also an additional note that Red Members will get “Up to 2 bonus matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (27/28 Season)”.
What this means isn’t clear; however, it could mean a few things.
- The Leagues Cup is being re-worked, and those games will be considered bonus
- The team is securing friendlies for the split season at SIS
There’s also the chance this could mean any of the non-MLS tournaments teams take part in, such as the Leagues Cup, Champions Cup, or U.S. Open Cup.
Regardless, there are a lot more games.
Honoring Long-Time Members
Probably the more interesting tidbit in the announcement is the team’s added benefits for long-tenured members.
The Red Bulls are introducing a new tiered membership system based on how long you’ve consistently been a Red Member.
The tiers are broken up into:
- 0-4 years
- 5-9 years
- 10-24 years
- 25+ years
Members will receive credentials that show tenure status and unlock their member discount at select concession stands. These credentials may be similar to the jersey patches used by the New Jersey Devils to signify how long a fan has been a season-ticket holder.
That said, only a few things change based on the tiers. The number of Members+ Rewards Portal points required to start a season and the amount of money put toward suite credits are the biggest factors, with amounts varying by tier.
What didn’t look great, however, was the bullet point that said “25% BULLShop discount at 25 years”. All tiers of Red Member get 15% off at the BULLShop. But a fan would need to have been a season ticket holder since 2002 just to get an additional 10% off items.
A reminder, the Red Bull name has only been in use since 2006.
A team spokesperson clarified that milestone members will also receive gifts at the 10-year and 25-year marks, noting that there is not an insignificant number of season-ticket holders since 1996 whom they are trying to honor.
That said, you still need to be a season ticket holder for a quarter of a century just to give the team a little less money at the store compared to other members. For years 0 through 24, everyone only gets 15% off. And in years past, fans were able to get higher discounts.
Look, are the milestone gifts at 10 and 25 years a cool idea? Yes. Hopefully, they work out.
That said, it still feels like the team needs to put in the work to value long-term members.
