After months of weighing many options, the Giants finally selected Malik Nabers with the 6th pick.
This pick required the Giants’ front office to make a big decision.

With many analysts thinking that the Giants would select a quarterback or even trade up to get Drake Maye, this selection may have come out as a shocker since the Giants had some major quarterback troubles last season.

Malik Nabers, a wide receiver from Louisiana State University, has been turning heads with his playmaking ability and athleticism. At 6’3″ and lightning-fast speed, Nabers has the potential to become a game-changer for the Giants’ offense, which has been missing for several years. With his route-running skills and ability to make acrobatic catches in traffic, Nabers brings a dynamic element to the team’s offense, which really needs it after a poor year last season.

After watching Malik Nabers last year, it is very easy to see that he resembles Odell Beckham Jr., a former first-round selection of the Giants.

If Nabers could have a rookie year similar to Odell, then Giants fans would be extremely happy that they chose him instead of taking a quarterback. Although the idea of Drake Maye on the Giants excited many fans, the Patriots were just not budging on sending the third overall pick to the Giants. After Maye went at the number 3 pick, Giants fans were then wondering what exactly Joe Schoen would do, and instead of reaching for a quarterback like J.J. McCarthy or even Michael Penix Jr., who surprisingly went two picks later at 8, the Giants decided to not only take an explosive offensive weapon but to take the best player available.

Now, trust me, I understand that there are still many holes in this Giants team, but I have to say that drafting someone as exciting as Malik Nabers has given me a sense of hope that the offense could become something special. Yes, I know we are missing Saquon, and Daniel Jones isn’t the right answer at quarterback, but the Giants have not had a wide receiver with this type of big-play ability since Odell. And I think if we try to build around a quarterback instead of throwing a QB like McCarthy into the fire with no weapons, it will lead to better success. Whether it is from the draft or in free agency, the Quarterback position is one that Joe Schoen knows needs some help, and there is no doubt in my mind that they are going to make the correct decision at that position.

As for day 2 and day 3 in this draft, it is very important for the Giants to pick up some pieces of depth. However, I have been hearing a lot of rumors about possibly selecting Spencer Rattler.
The smart pick will be defensive and, later, selecting a running back while having Daniel Jones or Drew Lock at the quarterback position.
