The New York Jets have officially unveiled their newest addition to their uniform rotation, this time above the neck.

They will wear their newest “Stealth Black” helmets in three home games this season:

October 30th versus the New England Patriots

November 27th versus the Chicago Bears

December 12th versus the Jacksonville Jaguars

The helmets feature the same royal green Jets text logo with the football underneath. The black on the helmet is matted, similar to what we see with the Atlanta Falcons’ helmet. The face guard bares a shiny green that matches the logo on either side of the helmet. The helmet will be worn with their black uniforms, which we saw appear in several games last season, to go for a full-black look.

This news comes in the midst of many teams introducing new helmets and uniforms. The Cincinnati Bengals, by popular demand, are introducing their “White Bengal” uniforms – a rendition of white uniforms they’ve worn in the past, but now with an all-white helmet with their signature Bengal stripes and black face guard. The New York Giants are bringing back their retro jerseys with red outlining on the numbers and the full text “GIANTS” on the side of the darker helmets. And the Cowboys are throwing it back on Thanksgiving with their retro helmets, all white with a solid navy blue star.

These new helmets will be a fun touch for Jets’ home games at MetLife Stadium in a moment where morale has never been as high as it currently is.
