As we continue day by day with no sports it seems hard to find some good in all of this.
The NHL still remains on hold as the league is trying to find out how to continue with the season without putting anyone in danger. This is the good news of course, but nothing has officially been announced.
For New York Ranger fans at least, there has been some good news that was announced this week.
Forward Chris Kreider was out before the season was put on hold due to a fractured foot after blocking a shot. This happened in February. It was unknown when Kreider would return or if he’d return at all this season. It was a major concern for fans as Kreider played well during his last few games and seemed like a helpful piece if the Rangers made the playoffs.
During a videoconference this past Monday, Chris Kreider discussed the healing and process of the foot fracture. During the conference, Kreider stated that he is healing and that if the NHL season continues he’d be ready to play. This is really great news during this hard time, especially for Rangers fans. If the NHL season continues and the Rangers come back the same way they were playing before, the team has a good chance at making the playoffs. With that being said, having Kreider back would be a huge help.
Before getting injured, Kreider was playing strong. Throughout this season Kreider has scored 24 goals and put up 21 assists. As many fans know, Kreider also has great chemistry with the team which is one of the reasons he was signed back with New York during free agency.
While the remainder of the NHL season and playoffs are unknown, it is good to hear that if the season returns, Kreider will too.
