Today, the New York Yankees would have been playing the Baltimore Orioles and will not be, of course, as a result of the delayed season.

Let’s look back on what happened a year ago instead, to a time when Yankees fans saw one of their team’s 103 wins. On this day in 2019, the Yankees played the Orioles, and as they so often did last year, absolutely battered them.

The Yankees won by a score of fifteen to three. Yes, you read that right. FIFTEEN to three. During this huge win to complete a three-game sweep of the Orioles, the Yankees hit seven home runs, which was their most on the road in more than half a century.

Gary Sanchez had an outstanding game, hitting three home runs and driving in six runs.

Clint Frazier also had a great game, hitting two homers and driving in four runs. Gleyber Torres hit himself a solo shot, adding onto his impressive resume of dominating the Orioles.

This recap is from May 22, 2019, but it tells a great story of Gleyber’s dominance over Baltimore.

Gary Thorne is left speechless because of how Gleyber continues to hit home runs against the Orioles.

Every time I think about the Orioles, this is always in my mind.

Fan-favorite DJ LeMahieu drove in a run, Gio Urshela drove in another, and now-Detroit Tiger Austin Romine drove in the remaining two runs. The Yankees obliterated the Orioles that day, and who knows, they could have done the same today.

Hopefully, baseball does come back this year, and we watch the Yankees score fifteen runs in a game again.
