The New York Rangers have many valuable players that can sometimes overshadow others.

With a large amount of talent from veterans and prospects, it could become difficult to choose which player should start over the other. The Rangers carry talent from players like Mika Zibanejad, Kaapo Kakko, Filip Chytil, and more.

With the success of the teams’ starters and even some other players fans have grown to love, it can be easy to forget some of the lesser-known talents that are on the team.

Ryan Strome is one of the players that haven’t quite broken out yet, but still have a lot of talent. Strome is only 26 so this leaves a lot of time for a break out year, but silently Strome has been contributing to the Rangers positively.

Strome has played with the Rangers for two seasons now with a total of 102 games. With the Rangers, Strome has 29 goals and 41 assists. This season alone Strome has 11 goals and 26 assists in just 39 games.

The team didn’t see Strome having a permanent spot but after the teams, 5-4 OT win against the Toronto Maple Leafs, it seemed that Strome was great at the wing. Strome has also created great chemistry with Artemi Panarin. These two playmakers together great amazing finishes. The last game, which was a 7-5 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, showed that Strome is here to play tough. Throughout the whole game, the Rangers were behind. The team didn’t score until the second period where the score became 6-1 with Edmonton leading. In the third period though, the Rangers fought back and came close to a comeback. It all started with a goal from Ryan Strome.

There’s a lot of talent in Strome which can be overshadowed by other talented players on the team, but Strome plays just as hard as any other player. Ryan Strome is a quick playmaker and sets up plays well, especially alongside Artemi Panarin. Strome has a hard shot as well which is the toughness the team needs. On the other hand, Strome needs to better the defense to match up to NHL quality defense.

While the Rangers have an overflow of talent, it’s important to pay attention to players like Ryan Strome who secretly bring a lot to this team. Strome has the potential of helping this team’s future and increasing the talent along the way.
