The New York Rangers have many young players to develop as of recent. The team is getting younger, and some of these players could be future franchise players.
In 2018 and 2019, the Rangers had first-round picks, helping the team rebuild. Some of these prospects could be huge helpers, but some might not be.
Vitali Kravtsov is a prospect for the New York Rangers, from Russia. Kravtsov was drafted ninth overall by the Rangers in the 2018 NHL Draft. This season Kravtsov was put in the AHL to play for the Hartford Wolfpack. Kravtsov played one game in the AHL, just getting one assist.
It was recently announced that Vitali Kravtsov would sign with the KHL team Traktor Chelyabinsk. This deal is six figures and tax-free, it also allows the Rangers to call Kravtsov up during the season if the team wanted.
Kravtsov will most likely not be called up. Hartford wasn’t the right place at the moment. Playing where Kravtsov knows and feels comfortable is what’s best. As Kravtsov has played for this team before, putting up 56 goals for the team throughout the years.
While many think this is the right move for the 19-year-old, many fans have taken notice that Kravtsov has deleted posts on Instagram regarding playing for the New York Rangers. This left fans to think about many different things.
Some fans think this is an immature move by Kravtsov. Others just see it as a way of motivation and growth. In the end, Vitali Kravtsov is still just 19-years-old. The prospect didn’t make it into the NHL and only played one game in the AHL.
With not making the NHL, and only playing one game in the AHL and being scratched, Vitali Kravtsov needs to grow and develop his game more. There is a lot of potential in this player, just now isn’t the right time.
As for the Instagram posts, it’s important Kravtsov finds what can get his game better. If deleting the posts motivates him, then so be it. Playing in the KHL, especially a team Kravtsov is familiar with, could be a better development and could be beneficial. It’s a step to getting to the NHL.
