After getting embarrassed by Dallas in the opener and falling to Buffalo in MetLife, many Giants fan put the nail in the coffin after a 0-2 start.

The Giants then made the executive decision to give Daniel Jones‘ his first NFL start, in which he lead the Giants to a thrilling 32-31 win over Tampa Bay. With Daniel Jones and a constantly improving defense, many Giants fan show optimism towards the Giants season.

It wouldn’t be the first time the Giants fooled their fans into an 0-2 start. The 2007-08 super bowl team started 0-2 before rattling off 5 straight wins to reach 5-2.

Does Daniel Jones and a developing defense give the Giants another chance at a jump start after dropping the first 2 games?

It won’t be an easy path for the Giants. After Washington, the Giants play the Vikings, Patriots, Cardinals, and Lions in that order. The Giants will have to win 4 of those 5 to reach 5-3, which sets them up for a playoff push the second half of the season.

The Giants get Golden Tate III back for the Vikings game next weekend, adding to the new dangerous trio of Shepard, Slayton, and Engram. Although Saquon is out for at least 4-6 weeks, Jones should be able to lead the team like he did in the second half of the Tampa Bay game. Gallman is also more than capable of keeping the run game productive in the absence of last years first-round pick.

The Giants try to reach .500 this Sunday when they host a struggling Redskins team, who unfortunately will not start Daniel Haskins. If the Giants want any chance of playoff contention, they have to handle their business at home this Sunday.
