The Nets had a fine season this year, returning to the playoffs and winning some memorable matches but what will the Nets be aiming to do next season realistically.
First and foremost, this offseason is huge for the Nets, get this right and this could be the start of a very successful season in Brooklyn. The draft and the Free Agency will allow the Nets to add some real quality amongst their ranks as well as improve in the depth of their squad where they have sometimes lacked this season.
The Nets finally have some cap space after years of torture and it needs to be spent wisely and not thrown away. Everyone knows how hard the 82 game season can be and form is crucial, Bringing another talent to the side alongside D’Angelo will really help push this young side to the next step.
Players like Jared Dudley and DeMarcus Carroll were so important to the side last year and gave the side the balance they needed and helped the young side through times of struggle, keeping hold of these two vets will be key to keep on developing the young core.
The important things this season is that as a group we don’t get carried away with last season, we need to be patient and results will come. This side is still going to have their troubles but it’s a massive learning curve for them all. As stated previously this is a massive year for Brooklyn and of the offseason is a success, you fancy them to finish higher than sixth and to most certainly advance to the second round of the playoffs.
Kenny Atkinson and his coaching staff will be working tirelessly to make sure that come tip-off for the regular season, his Nets are ready to go.
