The NFL draft is a few weeks away and several questions still remain for the Giants. This mock draft takes a dive into what I think they will do in the first round, plus a little twist.

Round One, Pick 6: LB Devin White, LSU

The Giants have many needs but simply put their biggest need is a playmaker. Devin White is perhaps the best off-ball linebacker since pre-injury Myles Jack. He would bring speed and ferocity to a defense lacking pure talent. Some mocks predict that Devin White could be gone by the time the Giants make this pick but I am confident that one of the top guys will fall to the Giants at 6. The draft is sure to have surprises, and one way or another, the Giants will get their defensive stud. If White isn’t the player who falls it could be Alabama’s Quinnen Williams. Either way, the Giants should be sprinting to the podium to make this pick.

Round One, Pick 17: EDGE Clelin Ferrell, Clemson

This pick matches need with talent. Clelin Farrell is a 3-down mauler who can play with his hand in the dirt or standing up as an edge rusher. He has length, speed, and toughness. He excelled in a premier program in Clemson and should continue his domination in the pros. A few months ago, Farrell was discussed as a top 5 pick so for the Giants to get him at 17 is a great value. He will be in line to be the next Giants great pass rusher…something they desperately need right now.

Bonus: Round Two, Pick 37: TRADED for ARZ, QB Josh Rosen

In my opinion, The Arizona Cardinals have already decided they are trading Josh Rosen and drafting Kyler Murray with the first overall pick. They reportedly have talked with the Giants and are asking for a first-round pick. In this scenario, the Giants counter that offer with their second-round pick as well as a day two pick in next year’s draft. The Giants were scrutinized last year for drafting Saquon and missing on their future QB1. Fast-forward one year later and they have both.
