The Nets face a long haul road trip over the course of 15 days playing seven games (6 of those in the Western conference). Here we look at the 7 sides the Nets will have to face.
GAME 1: Oklahoma City Thunder
Previous meeting: 12/6/18 Nets 112-114 Thunder
Star man: Paul George
Brooklyn Nets will start their road trip tonight in Oklahoma as they take on the Thunder. The Western side are currently 4th seed.
OKC have a very strong core and with an experienced leader in Russell Westbrook who has guided some of the less experienced players through, This OKC team will be looking to have a good post season as they aim to get a top 3 spot.
GAME 2: Utah Jazz
Previous meeting: 11/29/18 Nets 91 Jazz 101
Star man: Donovan Mitchell
The Jazz currently make up the final play off spot in the west holding off the Kings and Timberwolves respectively.
They currently have a 56.1 win percentage and have been fairly strong at home win in 21 of their 33 so far. Fairly inconsistent as of late The Jazz will be looking to find some momentum in the final stretch.
GAME 3: Los Angeles Clippers
Previous meeting: 11/17/18 Nets 119 Clippers 127
Star man: Lou Williams
Los Angeles are famous for their basketball but it’s the clippers who are doing the better of the two this season. They sit in 7th seed as they prepare for the play offs.
Lou Williams has been a big contributor to the play off push for the Clippers. He is currently hitting an average of 20.3 points per game and 5.3 assists. A healthy Williams in the post season would be a massive boost to their first round chance.
GAME 4: Sacramento Kings
Previous meeting: 1/21/19 Nets 123 Kings 94
Star man: De’Aaron Fox
A promising team who have big things to come if they can trade well in the off season and keep their key players, The kings are just outside the play offs and need a good run to put pressure on the Jazz.
With 8th seed starting to drift from the Kings and with the Timberwolves and Lakers not too far behind from them, the final few games could bee very important to that last spot in the play offs.
GAME 5: Los Angeles Lakers
Previous meeting: 12/19/18 Nets 115 Lakers 110
Star Man: LeBron James
When LeBron arrived in pre season the Lakers were once again hyped about and looked certain for a play off place. However injuries and the chemistry just not being there has made it a whole different story.
11th seed 6.5 games back from a play off place, injuries to LeBron have really hurt this young Lakers side and despite the experience of players like Rajon Rondo it may be another season of no post season for the Lakers.
GAME 6: Portland Trail Blazers
Previous meeting: 2/22/19 Nets 99 Blazers 113
Star man: Damian Lillard
The Trial Blazers are part of a tight 3 way battle for 3rd seed. They sit in 5th seed level with 4th place OKC and one game back from the Rockets in 3rd.
7-3 record in their last 10 in good momentum to have at this stage of the season and could help them push up the rankings in the West to give them a more favourable 1st round match up.
GAME 7: Philadelphia 76ers
Previous meeting: 12/13/18 Nets 127 76ers 124
Star man: Joel Embiid
The Nets end their road trip back in the east as they take on the 76ers. The nets have won 2 of the 3 match ups already this season as they look to avoid the 76ers levelling up the series.
Injury hit Joel Embiid has slowed Philly down in recent games but with pros such as Ben Simmons still playing and getting good minutes, the 76ers will look to secure that 3rd seed spot and avoid a hard first round match up.
