Camby jokes Knicks-Nets opener at Barclays ‘would’ve been a home game for us, too’
The devastation left by Hurricane Sandy has turned Friday’s game against Miami at the Garden the season opener for the Knicks.
The Knicks were scheduled to play the Nets tonight at Barclays Center, but the game was postponed due to Sandy. The Knicks, now, will turn their attention to LeBron James and the NBA Champion Miami Heat.
Marcus Camby joked that there are more Knicks fans than Nets fans. “Well, tonight would’ve been a home game for us too,’’ Camby cracked when asked about opening the season now at the Madison Square Garden.
In the season opener, the Knicks will probably feature a small lineup moving Carmelo Anthony to power forward spot with Amar’e Stoudmire out. This shouldn’t pose a big problem, with Miami already featuring a small lineup with Chris Bosh at center.
